1. fade [feɪd]

v. 褪色；凋谢；逐渐消失adj. 平淡的；乏味的

The colour in this material does not fade.  这布料不褪色。

2. faint [feɪnt]

adj. 模糊的；头晕的；虚弱的；vi. 昏倒；变得微弱；变得没气力n. [中医] 昏厥，

He became aware of the soft, faint sounds of water dripping. 他开始觉察到水滴下来的轻柔、微弱的声音。

3. faithful [feɪθfʊl]

adj. 忠实的，忠诚的；如实的；准确可靠的

She had been faithful to her promise to guard this secret. 她一直信守诺言保守着这个秘密。

4. fake [feɪk]

n. 假货；骗子；假动作v. 捏造；假装…的样子adj. 伪造的

The bank manager is said to have issued fake certificates. 据说这个银行经理曾出具过伪造的假凭证。

5. fame [feɪm]

n. 名声，名望；传闻，传说vt. 使闻名，使有名望

He owed his fame to good fortune.  他把他获得的名望归因于好运。

6. fantasy [fæntəsɪ]

n. 幻想；白日梦；幻觉adj. 虚幻的vt. 空想；想像

The film is more of an ironic fantasy than a horror story. 这部电影比较像是讽刺的幻想故事，而不是恐怖片。

7. fare [feə]

He could barely afford the fare. 他几乎付不起车费。

8. farewell [feəwel]

n.   告别，欢送; 欢送会; 告别辞;

He bade his wife farewell and set out on his journey.  他辞别了妻子便启程了。

9. fascinate [fæsɪneɪt]

v. (使)着迷，(使)神魂颠倒

The children were fascinated by the toys in the big department store. 孩子们被大商场里的玩具迷住了。

10. fatal [feɪt(ə)l]

adj. 致命的；重大的；毁灭性的；命中注定的

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the situation. 国家若忽视这一局势的紧迫性，后果将会非常严重。
