1. futile [fjuːtaɪl]

adj. 无用的；无效的；没有出息的；琐细的；不重要的

We do not fight global warming because it is futile to do so.  我们不对付全球变暖的斗争，因为以这样做是徒劳的。

2. gallop [gæləp]

n. 疾驰；飞奔v. 飞驰；急速进行；急急忙忙地说

The horses galloped away. 那些马疾驰而去。

3. gamble [gæmb(ə)l]

v. 赌博；孤注一掷；冒险假设n. 赌博；冒险；打赌

Yesterday, he named his cabinet and took a big gamble in the process. 昨天他冒了很大的风险任命了他的内阁。

4. gap [gæp]

10. genuine [dʒenjʊɪn]

adj. 真实的，真正的；诚恳的
