12.amend [əmend]

v. 改正，改善

make amends for 补偿，赔偿…损失

He wanted to make amends for causing their marriage to fail. 他想为一手造成他们婚姻的破裂做出补偿

13.remedy [remɪdɪ]

vt./n. 补救，治疗，赔偿
